PHOENIX, AZ – Kari Lake, a Republican gubernatorial candidate for Arizona who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump appeared to become extremely upset when a Fox News anchor asked her during a televised interview on Monday about a story that allegedly linked her to drag queens.

After discussing Lake’s claims that the 2020 presidential election was “fraudulent” and that current President Joe Biden was “illegitimate” – accusations that have yet to be proven in court – Fox host Bret Baier responded by playing a video clip from the House January 6 committee last week where Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers had testified that he felt that the election was not rigged.

“He is a Republican,” Baier said. “He is a Trump supporter. And that’s what he said.”

Lake dismissed Bowers’ testimony, referring to him with the acronym for the phrase “Republican In Name Only.”

“He is a RINO,” she said. “And he hopefully will be defeated. He is an absolute RINO.”

After Baier stated that over 70 court cases had failed to produce any evidence of widespread election fraud, Lake insisted that “we now have evidence” that it was tampered with in Biden’s favor.

But at that point in the interview, Baier pivoted to a story from last week in which drag queen Rick Stevens of Phoenix purported that Lake had been a regular patron at a club that he performed at, and that the reporter-turned-politician had even personally hired him for her birthday to do his drag act at her home.

Stevens went on to provide photographs of himself posing in-drag with Lake, and claimed that her current criticism of drag queens is simply pandering to her political base.

“She’s friends with drag queens,” Stevens claimed. “She’s had her kid in front of a drag queen. I’ve done drag in her home for her friends and family. She’s not threatened by them. She would come to shows constantly. To make me be the bogeyman for political gain, it was just too much.”

Lake took exception to Baier questioning her on Stevens’ story, saying that she was looking into legal options against the drag queen and that it was more important to talk about allegations that the 2020 election was “stolen.”

“I’m really shocked,” she said. “I’m actually appalled that Fox News would take a defamatory story like that – and we are pursuing legal action against this drag queen – I’m appalled that you would bring that up when you have not talked about our stolen election.”

Baier disputed Lake, responding that “We just spent three questions talking about this.”

Later in the interview, reiterated her distaste for Baier’s line of questioning and what she perceived to be his lack of attention to her election fraud claims, insinuating that the Fox anchor’s hands may have been tied. She also referenced “2,000 Mules,” a film by Dinesh D’Souza that examines alleged large-scale ballot-harvesting during the 2020 presidential election.

“I’m really disappointed in Fox. I thought you were a little better than CNN,” Lake said. “I think you do want to ask [about alleged election fraud], but you don’t want to ask about 2,000 Mules.”

Lake was also critical of Baier for not asking “any tough questions” last week when he had interviewed her primary opponent, Karrin Taylor Robson, an accusation that Baier denied.

After her interview, Lake took to Twitter and posted a video clip of her interview with Baier.

“WATCH what happens when a Mama Bear takes down a Fake News Baier,” she tweeted. ”The Corrupt Media REFUSES to talk about the biggest story of our lifetime: a STOLEN election. Instead they try to divert our attention to meaningless stories…I will never let them.”
