The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Wednesday,

and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.

The loonie was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.3119 to the

greenback, or 76.23 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of

1.3064 to 1.314.

Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 0.1

basis points to 3.072%. The yield on similar U.S. government

benchmark debt rose to 3.1306%.

U.S. October crude futures fell $2.09 to settle at $89.55

a barrel on Wednesday​.
