The horologists at Grand Seiko are proud to present the all-new 44GS 55th Anniversary Limited-Edition Ref. SBGY009 as a commemorative release for collectors and enthusiasts. The newly reimagined 44GS features a 40mm stainless steel case design with a beautiful smooth bezel, sealed tight to achieve its impressive 100-meter water resistance.

The dial showcases a deep blue finish inspired by tsuki tenshin, the moment when the full moon is at its highest point in the sky over the Japanese Shinshu mountains. Adding a vibrant touch for contrast, Grand Seiko highlights its ‘GS’ logo and seconds hand in bright yellow for better visibility beneath the night sky. Delivering power to the 44GS’ time-only function and 72-hour power reserve is Grand Seiko’s in-house Spring Drive 9R31 caliber, a manual-wind movement made thinner than its original 1960s release. A transparent sapphire backcase presents a detailed view of the intricate movement in action, while the outer portion includes engravings that signify the limited 1,500-piece release from Grand Seiko. The 44GS 55th Anniversary model comes fit on an elegant large-scale matching blue crocodile leather strap and three-fold clasp.
