CAPE CORAL, FL – This weekend will mark two years since Lauren Dumolo went missing from her Cape Coral home. Family, friends and community members will join at Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral this Saturday, June 18th beginning at 5:30 p.m. to reinvigorate the search for Lauren and encourage people with information on her disappearance to come forward.
Lauren was last seen at her downtown Cape Coral home in June 2020 and the last phone call she had was with her sister Cassie on June 18, 2020 around 6:30 p.m. Since that time, law enforcement, family members and even strangers with huge hearts have spent the last two years searching for Lauren. The goal for this weekend’s vigil is to remind the community that Lauren is still missing and that we need the public’s help with anonymous tips to help law enforcement find Lauren, as well as anyone who may be related to her disappearance.
The event at Four Freedoms, located at 4818 Tarpon Court in Cape Coral, starts at 5:30 and will follow with a candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m., a prayer, and words from Lauren’s family and friends. The public is invited to attend this event and, if possible, to wear pink in honor of Lauren. Four Freedoms Park was chosen as the location for this event because Lauren was known to spend a great deal of time at the waterfront park.
“Despite the fact that two years have passed, we are confident that there are people who know what happened to Lauren. But for whatever reason, they are choosing to remain silent,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Manager. “We also know that people change, and relationships change, and that perhaps people who didn’t feel comfortable talking two years ago might finally feel compelled to do so now. Our community remains vigilant in doing whatever we can to help get the answers that Lauren’s family deserves and to help bring Lauren home.”
